Melzer, who reached a career-high ranking of world No. 25, won two WTA titles, the first in Acapulco in 2004 and the second in Fès in 2010. She had a more illustrious run as a doubles player, where she won 14 WTA titles with a variety of partners. Her continous shoulder problems would derail her career in 2012 and it would never fully recover from there.
