Janowicz reaches Paris final after beating Simon

Jerzy Janowicz defeated Gilles Simon in straight sets and entered his first ATP final at Paris Masters 2012.

Polish qualifier Janowicz extended his surprising run of victories this week for another match, his semifinal victim was 20th-ranked home crowd favorite Simon. The first upset of the opener came in the fifth game as the Pole got a hold of a triple break point and tucked away the second one. The Frenchman never came close to claiming a re-break and Janowicz served out the set smoothly.

More than solid serving from both players in the set two until 5-5 when Simon went 0-40 down again and World no. 69 Janowicz grabbed a break for a 6-5 lead. A double match point followed soon and the Pole disappointed the Paris audience with a refined drop shot which Simon could not return. In the end, a 6-4, 7-5 triumph for Janowicz who hit 13 aces (Simon only 2) and won 67% of second serve points. He made it to his first ATP final where he will play the better of Ferrer-Llodra pair.
