Spaniard David Ferrer booked his Paris Masters 2012 final ticket as he beat home crowd favorite Michael Llodra in straight sets 7-5 6-3.
Ferrer remains the only player in the tournament who has also qualified for next week’s ATP Finals in London.
Llodra had plenty of chances to take the Spaniard’s serve in the first set, but couldn’t convert any of the 10 break point opportunities he had. Ferrer made him pay dearly for it and after breaking the Frenchman in the 12th game, the set was his.
No.4 seed Ferrer then stormed to a double break lead in at the start of set two. Despite Llodra claiming one of the breaks back, it came too late for him and the Spaniard set up a final clash against the big surprise of the tournament Jerzy Janowicz.
Janowicz defeated another Frenchman Gilles Simon in the previous semi-final, prevailing 6-4 7-5. This has been an absolutely outstanding week for the Pole, who has eliminated Kohlschreiber, Cilic, Murray and Tipsarevic in the previous rounds.
