Ferrer, Lopez advance at Barcelona Open

3rd seed David Ferrer of Spain didn’t waste too much time on his way to victory over the Serbian wild card holder Filip Krajinovic as he dismissed him 6-0  6-3. Ferrer will now play his countryman Albert Montanes, who defeated Australian Bernard Tomic 6-0  5-7  7-5. Feliciano Lopez joined Ferrer in round 3 after he beat Italy’s Flavio Cipolla in straight sets 6-4  6-3. Next up for Lopez will be the Finn Jarkko Nieminen, who overcame the Australian lucky loser Eduardo Schwank 6-3  6-7 (4)  6-4. Also through to the third round is the 6th seed Spaniard Nicolas Almagro after eliminating Edouard Roger Vasselin of France 7-5  7-6 (3), Milos Raonic of Canada, who ousted Russian Igor Andreev 6-4  6-1 and Kevin Anderson of South Africa after defeating the Argentine qualifier Federico Delbonis 7-6 (5)  7-6 (5).
