Gilles Simon closed the gap on leader Daniel Gimeno with a couple of matches at the Besancon challenger.  And Sebastian Fitz moved into third place by qualifying and winning the second leg of the Israel #1 satellite.  Yen-Hsun Lu's trip to the finals in Kyoto got him to 4th.

Roger Federer passed Lleyton Hewitt again, this time with another title in Dubai, raising his 2004 record to 16-1.  Dimitri Mazur qualified and won India F1 for a jump to 7th.  Carlos Moya also enters the top 10 after a title in Acapulco.
