A few more Spanish futures events left so the battle at the top is
up for grabs. Nicolas Almagro continues to lose in the first round
of challengers so Miguel Angel Lopez-Jaen closed the gap with a semifinals
appearance in Spain
F27. He lost to Ivan Navarro-Pastor who then lost in the finals
so Navarro-Pastor reaches the century mark, becoming the fourth player
to do so.

Young-Joon Kim had to retire in his first round match at the China
#2 satellite and it could mark the end of his year. He is now
30-4 and still in first place. Jimy Szymanski qualified
and lost in the first round at Puebla
but stays in second place. Andrea Stoppini stopped short of a satellite
slam when he lost in the quarterfinals of the Italy
#7 masters leg. He had won the first three weeks. Instead
he opted to head over to the Milan
challenger and it appears to have been a good move.
