GB Satellite

Postby Shhh » Sun Sep 12, 2004 12:51 pm

A real silly one this, I have just looked back to the points scored in the British satellite in February and, in the doubles, all British points winners are listed as Australian.

Made me smile anyway

You can tell I borrow another file as a template and then type over. But sometimes I forget parts. ;)

Thanks for pointing it out. I have corrected it.

Steve

just 2 remarks

in Davis Cup Romania vs. Canada in last match Ionita replaced Hanescu and has beaten Larose.

In Slovakia vs. Germany DC it was Kucera who has beaten Mayer in deciding 5th match (not Beck typed by you).

correct order

Postby Pete » Tue Sep 28, 2004 6:35 am

Steve

you mixed up correct order of Romania vs. Canada matches

right it is (according to daviscup.com) :

1st match Andrei PAVEL (ROM)d. Simon LAROSE (CAN) 75 63 62

2nd match Victor HANESCU (ROM) d. Frank DANCEVIC (CAN) 57 63 36 63 64

3rd match Daniel NESTOR / Frederic NIEMEYER (CAN) d. Victor IONITA / Florin MERGEA (ROM) 64 64 26 62

4th match Andrei PAVEL (ROM) d. Frank DANCEVIC (CAN) 62 64 62

5th match Victor IONITA (ROM) d. Simon LAROSE (CAN) 42 ret. Larose

Steve

Hanescu played 2nd match of 1st day and has beaten Dancevic (not Ionita). Hope its clear now

I have noticed also other differencies in futures money levels (this week tournaments)

in Great Britain F5 - calendar says 15K, while results only 10K
is Bolivia F2 providing hospitality ? ( calendar 15K+H, results 15K )

What level provided leg 1 of Portugal satellite? 10K?...or 25K?

...and 2 stupid errors

in Germany F14 (August 30-September 5, 2004) quarterfinals Jan Weinzierl beat ... himself. Actually he beat Stadler. :D

in Ecuador F1 (August 30-September 5, 2004) 2nd round Giraldo was multiple loser- he lost twice by your results - with Aranguren and Nunez. Actually he lost only to Aranguren. Nunez beat Pablo Gonzalez. :D

Well Steve

another one

what is correct prize money level in Burbank ch this week. Your calendar says 50K while results 25K+H .

Prize money level in Australia satellite - Leg 4 (Masters) must have been the same as for first 3 legs - 25K+H (you have it without +H).

thanks for adding zeropointers.

Thanks Pete. Yes, the Burbank challenger changed its prize money to $25K+H. Just forgot to change in the calendar.

I meant to check and see if all the AUS files were the same but hadn't gotten around to it yet.

Everything is now fixed. :)

In Paris doubles Hrbaty is partnering with Jiri Novak (not David Novak typed by you). :?

Has level of Ecuador satellite - Leg2 suddenly changed from 25 to 52K? :HeadBang:
There must be 25K in results section, of course.

If Spain F30 is playing Indoor then it should be written also in results section.

instead of French (Martinique is part of France)

doubles entry rankings

Postby Pete » Mon Dec 06, 2004 10:26 am

Steve

this is not your mistake:

Are doubles entry rankings correct ? I have noticed that Top 10 hasn´t changed since November 8 despite Masters Cup has played.
Seems that ATP forgot to add points for this year´s Masters Cup and remove points from last year.

Shouldn´t be doubles entry rankings counted as number of race best 18 points multiplied by 5 ? If so then ATP made a mistake.

Example :
Knowles and Nestor had both 961 race points on November 22.
But only 4630 entry points on Nov. 22, which is not correct because
961x5= 4805.

Nope. The Masters Cup does NOT count in the doubles entry rankings. It never has. So they are being consistent on this one.

Well Steve

I don´t care much for doubles but isn´t it a little strange that players don´t get points for Masters cup ? Why do they play it then ? Just for fun and money?

Ok, but I think I´m right in this:
Are you sure that cut off for Ischgl challenger is Jan Hajek (309) ?
I think that it should be Lorenzi who was 309th 3 weeks before start of the tournament (on Nov. 15). Hajek was 656th on that date.
Or is Hajek´s protected ranking which he uses now 309th ?.
By the way where could I find protected rankings of players on the web ?

joke - the youngest ATP finalist ever

Postby Pete » Wed Dec 08, 2004 7:18 am

Today I found youngest ATP tournament finalist ever:

I found on ATP website that Jairo Velasco Jr. who was born on 21st January 1974 reached ATP doubles final in Calgary as 2 months old (maybe he sat on the court beside his father(?) Jairo Sr.).

And he was probably the biggest talent ever because when he was 5 he reached his 1st ATP singles final in Bogota 1979 also by ATP website.

Of course that both results should belong to Jairo Sr. , but it makes me laugh when I imagine that 2 months old child plays tennis.
